True-Slate is a digital clapperboard and timecode slate for film, TV, and documentary sets — jam-sync to a master clock, read and generate SMPTE LTC, and keep a shot log you can export.

support@true-slate.comIf "Listen for LTC" is on but the readout stays at "no LTC signal":
1. Check the physical connection — a cable from your timecode source's LTC out into the phone's audio input, via a USB‑C or Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter (a TRRS cable carries the mic pin).
2. Set the app's frame rate (Settings → Timecode) to match the source.
3. Make sure microphone access is allowed (see below).
4. Raise the source's output level a little if it's very quiet, or lower it if it's distorting.
LTC jam sync needs microphone access to read the timecode from the audio input. The audio is processed live on your device only and is never recorded or sent anywhere.
1. Open the iPhone Settings app
2. Scroll down and tap True-Slate
3. Turn Microphone on
4. Reopen the app and toggle "Listen for LTC" again
This is deliberate, and matches a hardware smart slate:
• Un-jammed — the clapper is a stopwatch. The first clap starts the count, a cut freezes it, the next clap resumes.
• Jammed (JAM → Now, or from incoming LTC) — the clock is locked to a reference and runs continuously; the clapper is only a sync mark and does not stop it.
To go back to the stopwatch, open the JAM keypad and tap Release. Zero resets to a static 00:00:00:00 without jamming.
Open the take log (Settings → Data), tap Export, and choose CSV, ALE, or a camera / sound report. iOS opens the share sheet so you can AirDrop, email, or save the file to Files or a cloud drive.
True-Slate is landscape-only by design. "Tail slate" (Settings → Display) flips the board 180° for an end-of-take slate — that's separate from device rotation.
