True-Take — Privacy Policy
The short version: True-Take keeps your productions, takes, notes and settings on your own device. It has no account system, no advertising and no analytics, and it does not send your production information to anyone. The one thing it contacts a server for is checking for app updates, explained below. This website (true-slate.com) is separate from the app and may show ads from Google; see "Cookies and advertising on this website" below.
Who this policy covers
This policy explains how True-Take (the "app"), developed by Andy Dodd, handles information when you use it. There is no company or organisation behind it beyond the individual developer.

Your productions and takes
Everything you enter, including production titles, shoot days, scenes, shots, takes, notes, ratings, selects, camera and lens details and settings, is saved in the app's own storage on your device. It is never uploaded, and it is removed if you delete a production or uninstall the app.
Reports, exports and backups
PDF and CSV reports, JSON exports, editor handoff packages and backup files are created on your device. A file only leaves your device if you choose to share or save it, using the standard iOS share sheet or Files app. When you restore from a backup, the file is read on your device and nothing is sent anywhere.
Your microphone, camera, photos, location and contacts
True-Take does not use your microphone, camera, photo library, location or contacts, and does not ask for access to them.
App updates
To deliver improvements without a full App Store update, the app checks for updates using Expo's EAS Update service. When it checks, Expo's servers receive standard technical information that any internet request involves, such as your IP address, the app version, the platform and the operating system version. No production information, takes, notes or other personal content are included. Expo's handling of that information is described in its privacy policy.
Purchases
Any purchase of the app is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. True-Take does not see or store your payment details.
What the app doesn't do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
- No advertising or ad networks
- No account creation, sign-in, or user profiles
- No cloud sync of your productions
- No data sold or shared with any third party
Cookies and advertising on this website
This privacy policy is hosted on true-slate.com, which is a normal website and separate from the app. This site uses Google AdSense to show ads, which may use cookies or similar technology to personalise the ads you see and measure their performance.
If you're in the UK or EEA, you'll be asked to give or decline consent before any ad code runs. Google explains what it collects and how in its own policy for partner sites.
You can control or clear cookies at any time in your browser's settings. Declining ad cookies doesn't stop the site from working, it just means ads (if shown) won't be personalised to you. The app itself uses no cookies.
Google advertising cookies
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
No advertising or analytics code runs on this website until you have made a choice in our consent banner, and you can change that choice at any time. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie in detail.
Data stored on your device
Your productions, takes, notes and settings are stored only on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app.
Reporting an issue
If you email for support, that email is used only to read and respond to you, kept only as long as needed to resolve your query, and never shared with anyone else or used for marketing.
Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age. Apart from the update check described above, it does not transmit information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top will be updated and the new version posted at this same address.
Your rights
True-Take itself does not collect or store personal data on any server of its own, so there is nothing held about you to access, correct or delete. For data Google collects through ad cookies on this website, use Google's own privacy controls. If you have any questions, contact support@true-slate.com.
